The focus of the Military Family Program within the Texas AgriLife Extension Service is to improve the quality of life for soldiers and their families.

Since 1987, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the United States Army have worked in partnership to meet the needs of Texas soldiers and their family members. Over 50 Extension staff at Fort Bliss and Fort Hood are developing and implementing educational programs that enhance the family life skills of more than 55,000 soldiers and their family members. The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the military share a common concern for helping families adapt to a dynamic and changing environment. Both have recognized the need for proactive programs that anticipate as well as react to the emerging needs of our military communities.
