Susan Ballabina serves as the FCS Regional Program Director for the East Region. She holds a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education from Tarleton State University, an M.A. degree in Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas.
During her 12-year career with Extension, Susan has served as county Extension agent for FCS in Cherokee, Upshur, Williamson, and Dallas Counties. She was appointed East Regional Program Director in September 2005. Susan works cooperatively with district administrators and the senior administrative leadership team to guide programming for East Region clientele. She provides input into selection, training, annual program plan development, and performance appraisal of Extension agents.
Susan has received several honors during her Extension career. Honors through the Texas Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences include: New Professional Award, Marketing Package Team Award, Newsletter Award, Television Award, and Florence Hall Award. Susan received the Superior Service Team Award for her efforts in developing and piloting the Walk Across Texas program, and she is a graduate of Leadership Extension. Susan has also been honored as a Distinguished Alumni from the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences at Tarleton State University.
