Rebecca Dittmar is currently an Extension Associate, serving as coordinator of the Food Protection Management Program. In this role, she is responsible for financial operations; coordination with county, district, and regional programs; and maintenance of agent qualification and participant data files. She maintains program accreditation with the Department of State Health Services and is currently working on ways to incorporate distance technology to expand Food Protection Management programming efforts. She also provides professional development opportunities for qualifying agents and implementation of the Food Protection Management program in Brazos and surrounding counties.
Rebecca’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science and a Master’s
Degree in Agricultural Education—both from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining the Texas AgriLife
Extension Service, she worked as a management trainee at Sanderson Farms. She has published in the Journal
of Consumer Protection and Food Safety.
