Larry Wisneski is the Extension Military Program Coordinator. He began his career with Extension in 1992 as an Extension agent–Family Advocacy at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was responsible for educating all soldiers on the dynamics of family violence and for training commanders and senior non-commissioned officers on the Family Advocacy Program. Larry also taught classes on violence in the workplace and preventing dating violence to teens. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, Elementary Education, from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Forensic Science degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He is also a graduate of the Army Family Advocacy Staff Training Course, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Mr. Wisneski retired after 27 years active duty with the U.S. Army, including tours in Vietnam, White House helicopter support, and three years as Provost Marshal at Fort Bliss. He taught law enforcement at Montwood High School in El Paso before beginning his work with Extension.
In September 1996, Mr. Wisneski received the Communications Award from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences for his instructional videotape on family violence. He was awarded the Fort Bliss Commander’s Award for Public Service in 1998 and 2001.
