Judy Gully serves as FCS Regional Program Director for the West Region. She holds a B.S. in Home Economics Education from Texas State University and a M.S. in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University.
Judy has been an Extension FCS agent since 1994, serving in the West Region her entire career. Judy served as FCS Program Leader and County Coordinator in Taylor County from 2003–2007 and served in the same capacity in Nolan County from 1996–2003. She began her Extension career in Upton County as the FCS Program Leader and County Coordinator from 1993–1996. In 2007, Judy achieved a ranking of Level III. She has been a member of NEAFCS/TEAFCS since 1994, serving as District Director for District 7 between 1997–1999 and a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi since 2002.
Prior to joining Extension, Judy served as a vocational home economics teacher. She taught in the Wall, Aquilla, and McGregor Independent School Districts for more than eight years.
Judy has served in a number of leadership positions within the Texas AgriLife Extension Service including: Agent Mentor since 2004; FCS State Marketing Committee; State and District BLT Advisory Committees; and the State Extension Diabetes Response Team, which set the framework for the Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes Outcome Program in FCS. Her community leadership roles include: Region 14 Head Start Policy Council; Aging Texas Well Community Planning Panel; Board of Directors, Day Nursery of Abilene; and Sweetwater High School Career and Technology Advisory Committee.
Judy was a member of SALE, class of 2005, and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Food Safety Award in 2006, The FCS Program Excellence Award in 2006, the Epsilon Sigma Phi Certificate of Meritorious Service in 2005, Ida Alexander Civic Leadership Award from the Sweetwater Women’s Forum in 2002, and the Community Partnership Team Award from TEAFCS in 2000.
