Cory Edwards serves as regional program support for Extension agents to implement externally funded projects focused on cancer prevention, risk reduction, and early detection. Cory will coordinate and assist with activities such as Walk Across Texas, Towards No Tobacco, Balance Food and Play, Cultivando la Salud, and Hallelujah to Health, as well as health fairs, summer safety camps, community presentations, Students Winning Against Tobacco Leadership Lab, and other programs focused on cancer prevention, risk reduction, and early detection. Her duties also include assisting agents with finding and training Master Wellness Volunteers to extend project outreach.

Cory earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Science education – both from Texas Tech University. Cory was a county Extension agent from 2001–2005, serving as CEA-FCS in Briscoe and Hall Counties and as CEA-4-H and Youth Development in Potter County. Cory is a certified EC-4 teacher. She taught kindergarten and first grade for three years in the Tulia and Frenship school districts during her hiatus from Extension.
