Myrna Hill joined the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in 1997 and accepted an appointment with Family Development and Resource Management and the Rural Passenger Safety Team in 1999.
Myrna is program coordinator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Child Passenger Safety Technical Training sponsored by Passenger Safety. She is a certified child passenger safety technician/instructor. She organizes and instructs at the NHTSA certification training and is a senior checker at child safety seat checkup events across the state, which are conducted in cooperation with county Extension agents. Myrna assists county Extension agents, certified technicians, and parents with concerns regarding child passenger safety. She has completed the Transporting Children with Special Needs Training and the School Bus Training. Myrna assists in programming for safety belt use, child passenger safety, the Rollover Convincer, and other vehicle occupant protection issues.
Myrna served on the 2000 FCS Institute Health and Safety Block; Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Use among Teens: What Can Communities Do?; participated in the 2000 Buckle up Texas Workshop; and the 2007 Click It or Ticket planning committee. She serves on the Texas Child Passenger Safety Advisory Committee and is currently secretary of the Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition.
Myrna received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
